Iowa Electric Vehicles and Environmental Justice Expo

Transportation is a leading cause of carbon emissions and air pollution in the United States, and the most vulnerable communities -- including communities of color -- suffer disproportionately from it. Investing in clean and alternative transportation is one of the best courses of action to protect public health while also addressing climate change.

We have teamed up with public health groups, Moms Clean Air Force and Physicians for Social Responsibility to bring in a panel of speakers to provide information about the relationship between transportation and community health. We'll explore environmental justice implications, understanding how policy decisions are made that affect communities differently. And we'll learn how Iowa is addressing electrification of city buses, school buses, and mail trucks -- or could do so in the future.

At the end, you'll be able to take easy actions to advocate for change to improve our air and ensure a livable climate for all Iowans.
